SSgt Joe Covella, Jr USMC (Ret) passed away on Tuesday January 24, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Joe served in Beirut, Lebanon with BLT 2/8 and also participated in the 1983 invasion of Grenada. During his service in the Marine Corps, he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon with one Star. Over his lifetime, Covella had been a member of the Beirut Veterans of America and Marine Corps League.
